I came across an article on the AARP website that addresses the need for support to “elder orphans.” Elder orphans are described as seniors that have no immediate family or friends to help care for them or to make important decisions about their care. The article does a great job of explaining the current situation in Minnesota and how this overlooked group of seniors is beginning to receive some support.
